OMG, why did ACmoore start selling Auntie Anne's Pretzel Kits??? The kids and I are hooked. Everytime we visit the mall we treat ourselves to this awesome little treat, so imagine my delight when I stumbled across these little bad boys on a recent ACM run!!! I couldn't wait to get home and try them out so let me give you the rundown. For under $7.00 bucks you are able to make 8 or so full size pretzels or an assortment of other pretzel shapes (get creative, we did) AND they taste exactly like AA's!! I watched a couple youtube videos and the kids and I were off to create some umm, umm good pretzels!! We've purchased several kits since our first try and let me say these pretzels haven't disappointed us yet ( you really must try them, they come with a salt and cin/sugar pack)...
A little pretzel die-cut detail for ya!

Tatted Up, Henna Style
Told you that I had more LO's in store... This LO is one of my fav's. While in Myrtle Beach for the 2011 Nationals the kids all decided to get tattoos. You really had to be there to see the serious expressions on their little faces ( I tried to capture them to the best of my abilities!). After getting their tatts the kids couldn't stop showing them off to anyone who would look, I think J kept his for almost two weeks!

Play Hard or Go Home
Over the last few months I have made more of an effort to get our pictures off my computer and into scrapbooks; my kids were beginning to turn into jpegs and as a scrapbooker I just cannot have that! Soooo my next few post will be scrapbook layouts that I have completed recently.
My youngest DS plays on an AAU basketball team and during tournament time our family goes all in!!! This LO captures some great memories during the 2011 National's (We placed 5th, not too bad for a first year team). These young guys put there heart and soul into the game and I couldn't be more proud!

Winnie the Pooh and Baby Too!!
Hi Blog Family,
I hope that this post finds you all well!
Life for me has been busy as usual; however, I've managed to find a little "Me Time" in all our family mayhem.
Recently I attended a baby shower for a family friend whose nursey theme will be Winnie the Pooh. At the last minute I decided to purchase the Pooh diaper bag but I couldn't find anything to go inside soooo... Vinyl and MTC to the rescue.
In a hurry I was able to create a few cute little personalized items for Baby Christopher.
Enjoy and thanks for stopping by!

Long time no see... Recent projects!
OMG, I cannot believe four months has gone by since I have last updated my blog...
Where did the time go?
I tell you it seems like the summer months were a complete blur; between travel basketball, cheerleading competitions, work, family vacations, and general family things I haven't had much "free" time . I have been crafting, just not posting ( I know sad excuse for a blogger). So let me catch you guys up on a few things...
In July, I attended my first ever swarm and it was AWESOME!!! The swarm was hosted by Sista's Scrap TOO in Jasper, GA where I got to meet the most fabulous group of crafty people... I had a ton of fun and didn't want the weekend to end, I cannot wait to do it all over again. I've joined a couple of swaps which is something I NEVER do, I'll be sure to post a picture once my projects are delivered. I've been getting more familar with my new DSLR and I LOVE it...
So on to some recent projects... I hope I don't give you all picture overload.
My youngest son's basketball team was invited to the USBA Nat'l Tournament in Myrtle Beach over the summer so I made us all t-shirts using HTV, MTC and files that I found on google :

I've always loved the Smurfs, so imagine my happiness when the movie was announced! I just had to make a tumbler with my two favorite characters. Anywho, I used outdoor vinyl, MTC, a coloring book page for Gargamel and the smurfette svg was found online ( sorry I cannot remember the owner)
These next two layouts are my most recent projects.
I have challenged myself to create at least two full page layouts per month for my family. So far I'm on target and find that I actually enjoy working with paper, now I just need to get the pictures printed.
Hittin' the books.
I used MTC, files found on-line and svgcuts.com kit to complete this lo. The apple and chalkboard were created using chalkboard vinyl!

The Micheal Jackson Experience...
Earlier this year my husband and I hosted a Wii party... OMG, we had a ton of fun and our guests couldn't stop laughing and talking about the party. I knew that I had to create a lo to capture these memories, I cannot wait to add the pictures. I used MTC and images found in google and online, an assortment of glittery cardstock and print and cut for the lp albums.

That's all for now, I promise to post again soon! Hugs

2011 Teacher Appreciation Gifts
Hi Bloggers,
The past week I have been super busy preparing teacher appreciation gifts.
This year my kids have a great group of teachers who deserve to be appreciated daily. Our teachers do an amazing job and I cannot thank them enough!!!
I wanted our TAP gift to be useful and something that the teachers would enjoy. My ideas were all over the place and I couldn't seem to focus on a central theme ( that's what I get for blog hopping). Anywho, using the ideas from several blogs I was able to put together a few items that I hope our teachers will enjoy. In total I created 15 TAP gifts ( not all teachers received a gift basket).
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Paper Bag Mini Album..
Hi Bloggers,
Long time no chat... I'd like to apologize for the absence, once again life got in the way and I haven't had any free time to enjoy my hobbies... Anywho, Island V over on the SST forum of the cricut mb started a mini album swap ( thanks Island). The mini was supposed to be a love theme and specific to our swap partner. Now, I've only created one other mini before and it was very basic (not swap worthy for sure) soooo after hours of blog hopping and checking out tutorials I settled on a mini album tutorial from Kathy @ Paper Phenomenon . Why on earth I choose this mini out of all the mini's that I came across is beyond me... I think I let my Sistas ( you know who you are) hype me up into thinking it would be a breeze:-). So here it is, I didn't take pics of every page or of all the interaction but you will get the jest. Thanks for looking!!

Basketball Mom Car decal
Today while going through pictures of projects that I have recently completed, I realized just how much I've been focusing on vinyl related projects. Don't get me wrong, I love vinyl but I remember a time when I also loved to papercraft!!! Sooooo for the next week I have decided to "push" my beloved vinyl to the side and focus solely on some paper projects that I have wanted to complete for some time... Bloggers, please wish me luck as I have a mini-album swap that is due on the 28th!!!
Anywho, my family is a huge sports family so I created a car decal with my son's AAU Basketball team logo... I've been getting tons of requests for decals but they will have to wait until my self imposed vinyl ban is lifted... LOL
I used MTC and outdoor vinyl

Breast Cancer Tumbler
Hi bloggers,
I hope that everyone is having a great week!!!
This weekend, I had some spare time to get some crafty projects completed...
Told you all that I'm addicted to tumblers; however, I'm down to my last two until the next shipment comes in:-(. Anywho, my MIL is going through breast cancer treatments and I wanted to make something to help brighten her spirts...
For this tumbler I used the Fight Like A Girl svg that Todd over on the scal forum created, thx Todd! Brenda and the random words were created with the Hot Fudge font... All items were cut using MTC and Oracal 651!!!

Water bottles and tumblers galore!!!
This has been a super busy and crazy week and it's only Wednesday.
On Friday my oldest son came down with a nasty cold and strep throat, then to top it off I started feeling sick on Sunday night...
Uggh, what awful timing... I had orders that HAD to be completed, basketball mom duties to fulfill and my regular job to deal with ( did I mention, I hate being sick).
Anywho, on to the important stuff:-)...
I was asked to decorate 14 aluminum water bottles for my 8 year old cousin's birthday party. The birthday girl requested each guests name with butterflies on one side of the bottle (easy enough)! I wanted to do something special on the Bday girls water bottle so I found an awesome Justin Bieber svg file on the SCAL forum ( thanks Sweetness4713 for sharing your cool file) and I added this to the opposite side. The name font is Storybook created using MTC and the butterflies are a random clip art image that I traced in MTC.
All the other water bottles look similar to the ones shown |
My name is Nubian and I'm an addict... YES, I have admitted that I have an addiction. I can't stop altering these double walled acrylic tumblers. I'll be cruising the net, see an image and the next thing you know I'm decorating a tumbler!!!
Whew, what a relief :-)
A co-worker requested these two tumblers for her 13 and 16 y/o nieces. The only information that she provided to me was their names and ages.
My goodness, I haven't been 16 in years and have NO idea what teenagers today really like- so hopefully I hit the mark. The images were found in google and I traced them in MTC. I used the Hot Fudge font on Brianna and the Princess font on Brittini.
